Sfortunato and Morte Fratelli's Immortal Circus

by Thomas E. Suta

This was a piece written purely for fun. It has a brief narration.

Sfortunato and Morte Fratelli love the circus!  They love it so much in fact that they have attended every rehearsal and performance of every circus that has ever been!  The brothers like the way the performers walk that fine line between life and death and dare them to become part of the circus adventure.   On rare occasions, unable to contain himself, Sfortunato jumps in and performs his act usually followed closely by his brother Morte.  On these fateful occasions the Fratellis take one or more performers home with them to their world.  Disenchanted with the fact that their profession brings nothing but tragedy and grief, the Fratellis decide to show that their existence can have a humorous side to it.  Using performers they have collected over the years they form their own circus.  These performances relive the originaltragedies in a macabre cartoon fashion, but since none of the performers will, or can, meet with another demise there should be notears.  Finally, in true Italianesque form, the performersreturn for their bows at the end of each performance!
